


ArmInfo.A criminal case has been opened in the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia on the fact of organizing an illegal funeral in the Katoghike church, which is under state protection, in the Armenian city of Talin.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Culture of Armenia received a signal that from 1994 to 2017, in the territory of the Katoghike church, which is under state protection, illegal burials are being held without proper permission. As a result of these actions, the historical and cultural monument was damaged, and the territorial integrity of the latter was violated.
In fact, a criminal case has been initiated according to the 1st part of Article 264 (Destruction or damage of historical and cultural monuments that are under state protection, as well as objects or documents of special historical and cultural value) of the RA Criminal Code. The case is sent to the Investigative Committee for a preliminary investigation.
