ArmInfo. On November 11, an enlarged meeting of the Republican Party of Armenia will be held, at which finally will be resolved the issue of its participation in the December elections.
Although, according to ArmInfo sources in the RPA, the issue of participation has been resolved by 99%, at the meeting the decision will only be de jure approved. But the proportional list of the party is not ready, the first five of its participants are not even defined, despite the fact that the media persistently predict these places to former Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, Deputy President of NA Edward Sharmazanov, another Deputy President of NA Arpine Hovhannisyan, RPA Deputy Chairman Armen Ashotyan and former mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan. "It's not so, the list and even the first five are not defined. Perhaps it will look like the media announcements, and perhaps otherwise, nothing is clear yet," the source assured.
While one thing is clear, the candidates for the deputy mandate from the RPA, included in the party list, will be forced to measure their strength according to the rating system. The RPA head Serzh Sargsyan himself made this decision, despite the fact that it did not appeal to many Republicans. The old order continues to hold in the party - Sargsyan, with whom he introduces his party members at the last moment, once again makes the decisions, the same is true of the proportional list. Nevertheless, in official interviews, MPs from the party come out with optimistic forecasts regarding the possibility of the RPA to score double-digit indicators in early elections.
