ArmInfo.Ara Babloyan made a statement in connection with the dissolution of the National Assembly of Armenia.
The statement of Babloyan, in particular, states that, according to the Constitution, the parliament of the sixth convocation will act until the first meeting of the parliament of the seventh convocation. According to him, it is obvious that the sixth convocation of the National Assembly was distinguished by its wisdom and tolerance. "This is the result of high professionalism, political will and wisdom of our colleagues. In difficult moments, which were not few, often leaving aside party interests and views, all united around the idea of preserving the stability of Armenia and Artsakh", Babloyan said.
He expressed his gratitude to all MPs of the parliament for displaying such a high understanding, and especially to those MPs who did not change their principles and positions during the old and new government, and acted in accordance with their conscience and inner convictions. "It is thanks to this that during these months, predictability in internal and external processes, which allowed the country, people and the army not to get into great trials," - said the speaker.
Babloyan also noted that during his tenure, he also worked on the reforms of the staff of the National Assembly. "It's a pity that we didn't manage to implement all our programs, but the results of what we managed to do are already noticeable," the Presidentof the National Assembly emphasized.
Babloyan thanked all his counterparts, parliamentary factions, members of the parliament staff and the press for their hard work.
"I don't hide that I'm leaving with fears and regrets, with thoughts about whether I'll finish the programs that I started - legislative initiatives, international cooperation, parliamentary diplomacy, structural reforms, etc. I wish the parliament the seventh convocation of productive work and the main responsibility", concluded Ara Babloyan.
