
ArmInfo. Armenian President Armen Sargsyan in Minsk participated in a round table on East-West relations at the Main Group meeting (MSC Core Group) of the Munich Security Conference (Munich Security Conference). The discussion was opened by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
As reported by the presidential press service, Armen Sargsyan will give a speech on November 1 on discussions on regional conflicts. As previously reported, the delegation headed by President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan, which included Secretary of the National Security Council Armen Grigoryan and other officials, went to the Republic of Belarus on a working visit to the upcoming Minsk meeting of the Main Group (MSC Core Group) of the Munich Conference on November 30 Security (Munich Security Conference). More than 70 European leaders, prominent political figures, representatives of international organizations and the academic community arrived to discuss issues of regional security along the East-West line and the economic situation in Eastern Europe.
The Munich Security Conference has been held in Munich (Germany) annually since 1963. The delegation of Belarus takes part in the conference since 2006. Minsk in 2018 for the first time became a platform for a meeting of the ICD Core Group - 9 years after its first meeting. The IBC is an influential and representative platform for discussing international security policy issues. Meetings of the Main Group of the Conference are usually organized in various capitals of the world, providing an opportunity for high participants to discuss the most important issues of international international security policy. Traditionally, the core group focuses on the security policy of the host region.
