Acting Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan met with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Andrew Schaeffer - the United States, Igor Popov - the Russian Federation, and Stefan Visconti - France, who arrived in Yerevan during a regional visit. As the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry told ArmInfo, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk also participated in the meeting.
At the request of the interlocutors, Tonoyan touched upon the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the Karabakh-Azerbaijani line of contact of troops.
The acting head of the RA Ministry of Defense noted the importance of reaching an agreement between the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev in Dushanbe on establishing operational communications, expressing the hope that the co-chair countries would make appropriate efforts to establish and operate such operational communications in the Nakhijevan direction. Noting that the Armenian Armed Forces monitor the situation and control all movements, Tonoyan stressed that adherence to the truce regime, as well as the implementation of measures to prevent incidents and reduce risks, is the cornerstone of the current situation.
