ArmInfo. The delegation led by Armenian President Armen Sarkissian left for Belarus to attend the Munich Security Conference (Munich Security Conference), where he will take part in a meeting of the core group (MSC Core Group).
As the press service of Armenian President told ArmInfo that the delegation included Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan and other officials.
During the visit, Sarkissian will meet with his counterpart from Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, as well as representatives of the Armenian community.
The Munich Security Conference (MSC) will be held in Minsk from October 30 to November 1, 2018. For the first time, Belarus is hosting such a large-scale international forum, which will gather in Minsk a number of European leaders, prominent political figures, representatives of international organizations, and the academic community. There are Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip among the participants. Discussion participants will include the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, Mongolia, Poland and Slovakia, OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger, EU Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiation Commissioner Johannes Hahn, NATO Secretary- General for Intelligence and Security, Freytag von Loringhoven , Executive Secretary, Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization Lassina Zerbo.
In total, about 70 key leaders will discuss a number of pressing security issues for Eastern Europe and the Euro-Atlantic region. Among other topics, participants will discuss the current prospects for the Minsk process to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the future of relations between East and West, and the destruction of agreements on standard and nuclear arms control in the Euro-Atlantic area. Moreover, the current state of regional conflicts, as well as the sustainability of the economic model of Eastern Europe, will be included in the agenda.
