Armenian peacekeepers in Sverdlovsk will take part in CSTO  "Indestructible Brotherhood-2018" exercise

According to the plan of operational and combat training of the CSTO member countries for 2018, the Armenian armed forces from October 30 to November 2 in the Russian Federation will take part in the "The Indestructible  Brotherhood-2018'' joint exercise with the peacekeeping forces of the  Collective Security Treaty Organization.

The Defense Ministry's press service told ArmInfo that for this  purpose, on October 27, a peacekeeping brigade of the RA Armed Forces  will leave for Sverdlovsk on a military transport plane.

To note the theme of the exercise is "Preparation and conduct of a  peacekeeping operation by the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the  CSTO in the Central Asian region in the territory of a non-CSTO  member state according to the UN Security Council resolution". The  exercise will take place at the training ground of the Sverdlovsk  Training Center of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces  of the Russian Federation. It will be attended by the Chief of the  Joint Staff of the CSTO, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, and the  Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO, Peter Tikhonovsky.

The exercise will be attended by military contingents from six CSTO  member states (Republic of Armenia, Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan,  Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation and Republic of Tajikistan),  operational teams of the Joint Staff and CSTO Secretariat, police  (militia) forces and situations (civil defense and emergency).

It is planned that the total number of participants in the exercise  will be about 1.3 thousand people, 300 units of military equipment  and 20 units of various types of aircraft, including unmanned aerial  vehicles.  Representatives of the International Committee of the Red  Cross are also scheduled to attend the exercise.

At the first stage of the exercise, the peacekeeping operation will  be prepared by the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the CSTO (CPF  CSTO). In the course of the second stage of the exercise, practical  actions are planned to be carried out on the fulfillment of tasks by  the units of the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective  Security Treaty Organization in the course of a peacekeeping  operation.

During the "Indestructible Brotherhood-2018" maneuvers, the  peacekeeping contingents of the CSTO member states will work out  actions to monitor compliance with the cease-fire agreement and the  actions of the population in the area of responsibility, the tasks to  assist in restoring peaceful life in territories affected by  international terrorist attacks organizations, as well as transport  control, suppression of unlawful importation and exportation of  military equipment, weapons, ammunition and explosives. In  cooperation with police (police) personnel, they will work out the  actions of the CSTO CCM units in carrying out tasks to counter the  riots.
