ANCA on Bolton`s Iran Statement: The devil, will be in the details.

ArmInfo. The Armenian National Committee of America assessed the statement by the United States Presidential Adviser on National Security John Bolton on Iran.

Bolton signaled strict enforcement of Iran sanctions, tempering this  hard line with talk about not wanting these sanctions to unduly hurt  regional friends. The devil, of course, on this point, will be in the  details.  The ANCA will work with key government stakeholders to  ensure that regional sanctions do not improperly or unduly impact  Armenia, the organization stressed.  To note, Bolton in Baku stated  that the South Caucasus is extremely important for the United States  and is a strategic region. "For example, Azerbaijan is the only  country bordering both Russia and Iran at the same time. And one of  the reasons that the president decided to withdraw from the INF  Treaty was a violation by Russia of the production and deployment of  missiles that could fire at banned contract areas, obviously hitting  potentially nearby countries. Thus, the risk to international peace  and security comes from the violation of the treaty by Russia, and  not America's withdrawal from it, "Bolton assured.  According to him,  during his visit, he, in particular, discussed with President of  Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov  sanctions against Iran and their influence on Azerbaijan.
