ArmInfo.Ambassador Rudolf Michalka, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for South Caucasus, during a meeting with the Acting Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented the agenda of his activities and the upcoming steps.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the interlocutors touched upon the regional processes, exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation with the office of the special representative.
Touching upon the recent internal political processes in Armenia, Mnatsakanyan noted that the government continues the reform process aimed at fighting corruption, the rule of law, strengthening justice, ensuring equal conditions in the social and economic spheres based on a broad mandate from the people. He reiterated the authorities' commitment to holding early elections based on international standards. In this regard, Mnatsakanyan noted the importance of cooperation with the OSCE / ODIHR and other international structures.
Representing the position and approaches of Armenia on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the acting The Foreign Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Armenian side to an exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. He stressed that Armenia attaches great importance to creating an atmosphere of security and peace, noting that international partners should refrain from all those steps that lead to an arms race in the region and increase the threat of destabilization.
