ArmInfo.Armenian police opened a criminal case on the fact of damage to the cultural and historical monument located at Arami 23.
According to the materials of the investigation, the Avakian Bridge company violated the standards when carrying out construction works at 26/1 Byuzand, which caused damage to the cultural and historical monument located at Arami 23, in which the "Little Singers of Armenia" choir operates. Earlier, ArmInfo reported that one of the last architectural monuments, the building located at Arami 23, is under threat of destruction in Yerevan. The building, built in the 1990s of the 19th century, is in the register of protected monuments of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, but this status as in the case of other architectural monuments, does not protect it from the threat of destruction. It is noteworthy that in this building world-famous children's choir "Little Singers of Armenia" holds classes. However, due to the fact that the building is now practically on the verge of collapse, as evidenced by the expertise of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, young singers cannot hold rehearsals for a long time, taking into account the fact that in the near future they will have to represent Armenia in many reputable international competitions. As parents of students and school staff told the ArmInfo correspondent, it all started with the construction directly next to the architectural monument of the next elite building. According to the teachers, the contractors carrying out construction work violated all conceivable and inconceivable construction standards, as a result of which the foundations of the old building began to settle, and deep cracks were formed on the walls.
