ArmInfo.Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan held talks with Thomas Mayer-Harting, Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service, and Piotr Switalsky, head of the EU delegation to Armenia.
As the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry told ArmInfo, during the meeting the sides discussed the prospects of Armenia-EU cooperation in security and defense, in particular, the involvement of military personnel in EU training programs and the possibility of participating in EU peacekeeping missions. The interlocutors noted the importance of developing an appropriate international legal framework for the implementation of this process.
Tonoyan spoke about the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the line of contact between the troops, noting that to date the tension has somewhat subsided.
