ArmInfo. Every citizen of Armenia, according to the laws of the country, has the right to create a party. Armenian acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this today in an interview with journalists, referring to the intention of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharian to create a party.
At the same time, Pashinyan to some extent agreed with Kocharyan's opinion that there is a vacuum in the opposition field of Armenia. "There is a vacuum in the political field of Armenia as a whole, but I think that the forthcoming early parliamentary elections will put everything on their places ", - assured Pashinyan. To note in an interview with RIA Kocharyan announced his intention to create a party. "If you return to politics, then you need to think about it," he said. According to the former president, the name of the party does not matter. "The approaches that need to be adapted are fundamental. Now I see a very serious vacuum in the opposition field and I believe that it should be filled in the interests of the country," Kocharyan added.
At the same time, speaking about the reluctance to participate in the upcoming early parliamentary elections, Kocharyan explained that he simply does not have time, and there is no confidence in the legitimacy of this process.
"I was non-partisan. This means that I need to create a party from scratch, and not restore what once was. And I would like to go to the polls with a new, updated team. Usually, what are the first steps when you want to build a team ? You look at the people you know, the environment with whom you spoke, worked, "Kocharyan said. However, according to him, given the current situation, it is necessary to attract new, talented, young and energetic people. "Someone, of course, needs to be drawn from the old team, which you know, who worked with you. But you still need to rely on a new generation of people, but this is not easy, it takes time," Kocharyan added.
