ArmInfo.Acting Head of the Armenian Police Valery Osipyan called the Prime Minister's decision to appoint Hunan Poghosyan governor of Syunik region"right". He stated this on October 18 in an interview with journalists.
According to Osipyan, Hunan Poghosyan will work well.
To recall, the government of Armenia at a meeting on October 10 decided to appoint three governors. Gnel Sanosyan (previously served as deputy minister of nature protection) became the new governor of Gegharkunik region. Trdat Sargsyan will head Vayots Dzor region, Andrey Ghukasyan (former deputy governor) will head Lori region.
To note, Hunan Poghosyan was the first deputy head of the Armenian police, who resigned on May 11. "I made a decision on resignation. I ask you not to look for subtext in my words and decisions," he wrote, stressing that he always acted according to his conscience. "I have always served, and I will serve the Republic of Armenia, wherever this service is required, and if I am sure that I can give maximum to my state and people," the statement of Hunan Poghosyan read.
