ArmInfo.Armenian acting Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan left for Germany on an official visit. Harutyunyan met with Permanent State Secretary of Federal Ministry of Scientific Research Georg Schutte.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Harutyunyan noted that after the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Armenia, great opportunities were created for the development of joint programs. In particular, during the visit of the Chancellor, the Minister noted that prospects for expanding Armenian-German scientific cooperation were discussed, as well as the issue of opening the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies in Germany.
Touching upon the reforms in education in Armenia, the Minister noted that at the moment large-scale reform programs in the scientific field are being developed. In this context, the parties touched upon Armenia-Germany cooperation in the field of science. It was also noted that there are areas in which cooperation should be expanded, including exact sciences.
The Minister of Education of the Republic of Armenia and the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Science and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany agreed to make efforts to strengthen Armenian- German scientific ties.
