ArmInfo.Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan met with the Bulgarian Ambassador to Armenia Maria Pavlova Tsotsorkova-Kaimaktchieva, and the military attache of the embassy, Yangcho Komitov.
As the press service of the RA Ministry of Defense told ArmInfo, during the meeting a wide range of issues of Armenian-Bulgarian defense cooperation was discussed.
Highly appreciating the current level of cooperation and noting that Bulgaria is among the first European countries in terms of defense cooperation with Armenia, Tonoyan pointed to the prospects for the development of cooperation in a number of areas, especially the exchange of experience in such areas as military police, military education, human resources management and another. In turn, the ambassador expressed the readiness of the Bulgarian side to develop cooperation, and expressed the hope that the results would be felt in the foreseeable future.
The parties noted the importance of developing military-technical cooperation between the two countries, as well as organizing mutual visits and exchanging views on bilateral and multilateral cooperation and international and regional security. The meeting also discussed issues related to regional security.
