NSS of Armenia will not allow any encroachments on the constitutional  order of the country

ArmInfo. The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia will not allow violations of the constitutional order of the country. The Director of the National  Security Service Artur Vanetsyan told reporters on October 16 after a  government meeting.

When asked whether the security forces would work in emergency mode  after Nikol Pashinyan's resignation, Vanetsyan assured, "The security  agencies always work in so-called emergency mode, ". "We are  fulfilling our duties within the framework of the law, and we will  continue to perform with due diligence and very well," he stressed.

As for whether the NSS sees a threat of counterrevolution or  sabotage, Artur Vanetsyan stated that there are always threats. "We  adhere to the point of view that it is impossible to relax, and we  are obliged to carry out all activities that exclude any violations  of the law in the territory of Armenia," Vanetsyan said.  Today, as  the head of the National Security Service recalled, security forces,  according to the constitution, are directly subordinate to the Prime  Minister. "One of the activities of the National Security Service is  the protection of the constitutional system, and I assure you that we  are fully in control of the situation and will not allow violations  of the constitutional order by anyone," he assured.

To note, the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan  is expected today. Earlier today, before the beginning of the sitting  of the government, the head of government stated that today is an  important day in the political life of Armenia. According to him, the  Republic of Armenia is entering a new, historical stage, which should  consolidate the achievements of non-violent "velvet revolution". "But  I will speak about this tonight," the head of the government noted,  without specifying the essence of the statement, however, it is  obvious that the matter concerns the resignation of the RA Prime  Minister.  Meanwhile, the day before, the head of the Yelk faction  Lena Nazaryan had already announced that on October 16, Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan would resign in order to achieve the  dissolution of the parliament. "Given the fact that the former  authorities have not revised their strategy, the prime minister's  resignation is the only way to achieve the dissolution of the  parliament," she said, stressing that violent political processes  would begin in Armenia. "After the parliament does not elect the  prime minister twice, the parliament will be dissolved, and early  parliamentary elections will be held in December," the MP explained.

Earlier, in an interview with France 24, Nikol Pashinyan noted that  the early parliamentary elections in the country will be held  approximately October 9-10, therefore, the Prime Minister must resign  before October 16. The Prosperous Armenia Party has already announced  its refusal to nominate its candidate for prime minister. Also, 16  former and current members of the Republican Party expressed their  support for the head of government. If within 14 days (every 7 days)  the National Assembly does not elect the head of government twice,  the country's parliament is declared dissolved by force of law.
