Armenian delegation to PACE stopped provocation of Azerbaijani  counterparts on closing Metsamor NPP

ArmInfo. Another provocative attempt by Baku in PACE to close the Metsamor NPP failed. This is reported by the Head of the Armenian delegation to PACE, Deputy  President of Parliament Arpine Hovhannisyan.

She, in particular, noted that when adopting the resolution "Nuclear  Safety in Europe" in PACE, the purpose of which is to take steps to  improve the safety of nuclear power plants and reduce risks in the  event of terrorist attacks, the Azerbaijani delegation tried to  include in the document provisions for the requirement to terminate  the Metsamor NPP operation. However, the Armenian delegation  prevented these attempts. "The efforts of the Armenian delegation  were to prevent the appointment of a co-rapporteur on monitoring in  Armenia in the faction of the European People's Party who was not  objective in his views.  As a result, Slovenian representative Andrey  Shirchel was appointed co-rapporteur on monitoring," Hovhannisyan  wrote on Facebook.
