ArmInfo.The Berlin Declaration, adopted at the 27th annual session of the OSCE PA, urges renewed efforts to resolve conflicts, paying particular attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the situation in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova. The press service of the OSCE told ArmInfo that about 300 parliamentarians from 53 OSCE participating States took part in the session. It is held under the motto "The role of parliaments in the implementation of OSCE commitments".
The Declaration adopted after the amendment process notes the need for adherence to the fundamental principles of international law, human rights and the rule of law enshrined in the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act, and also urges renewed efforts to resolve conflicts, paying particular attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict , as well as Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova.
"We have just adopted a very important Berlin Declaration, which we hope will serve as a guide for our work in the coming weeks, months and years," said President of the OSCE PA George Tsereteli (Georgia) in his speech after the adoption of the Declaration.
