ArmInfo. On October 8, Armenian National Assembly President Ara Babloyan received the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin.
According to the press service of the parliament, during the meeting the parties touched upon the Armenian-Russian inter-parliamentary relations, noting the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of such programs, which will make it possible to strengthen Armenian-Russian socio-political and spiritual-cultural ties.
Presenting his initiative to the Presidentr of the Parliament, Zatulin noted that, being a friend of the Armenian people and working towards further strengthening the Armenian-Russian friendship over the years, he is initiating an initiative aimed at strengthening Armenian-Russian relations in various fields.
The initiative concerns the establishment of a new platform for informal and direct communication in the state, scientific, cultural and public sectors of the two countries. Moreover, it will be called the "Lazarev Club" in honor of the famous Lazarev dynasty, which did a great job for the well-being of Russia and the Armenian-Russian friendship. It is planned to create a new and unique platform to promote the Armenian- Russian public dialogue in various sectors, expand and strengthen cultural, labor, economic and scientific ties between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, the parties also touched upon issues related to the organization of plenary sessions of the PA CSTO, which will be held in Yerevan on October 29-30, stressing that the Assembly will contribute to legislative guarantee of regional security.
