ArmInfo. Early parliamentary elections are imperative. The head of the parliamentary committee on state and legal issues, former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan stated this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
He also stated that in other issues as well he supports the position of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, since he has always been sincere in his steps and statements. "I really appreciate his sincerity, and therefore I support him, I am ready to stand next to him at any time. In general, any sane person should support Pashinyan, since his failure means Armenia's failure," said the MP, a Republican, who suddenly changed his radical views for Pashinyan and his team. Kostanyan also stressed that the possible nomination of another deputy for the post of prime minister in the event of Pashinyan's resignation is unjustified, since today there is no other leader in Armenia who enjoys such high public support. According to Kostanyan, his party members share this point of view. The MP assured that he is not afraid of the critics of his party members and does not hide that he changed his mood after meeting last week with First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
"During the meeting with Mirzoyan, I was satisfied with the honesty, sincerity and consistency of intentions of Pashinyan and his team," Kostanyan admitted. He also admitted that in December he would lay down his deputy mandate and fly away to Europe, where he was promised a position in the European Union. Perhaps this is precisely the reason for the radical change in Kostanyan's moods. To note, today another member of the Republican Party Arman Sahakyan spoke in favor of early elections in December. The RPA satellite, the Reformsts Party, made an unexpected statement about the need to dissolve parliament and hold early elections in December of this year. Nevertheless, the RPA today announced the danger of holding early elections in December of this year.
