ArmInfo.Armenian President Armen Sargsyan, who is on a working visit to the United States, took part in the 25th annual East-West Institute award ceremony in New York.
As ArmInfo was told in the press service of the President of Armenia, Sargsyan received the award named after the co-founder of the Institute, the American diplomat John Edwin Mroz.
In the presidential administration, the RA President was reminded that in past years this award was received: 41st President George W. Bush, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, former Czech President Vaclav Havel, former President Finland, the Nobel Peace Prize winner Martti Ahtisaari and others.
Thus, during the presentation of the Sarkisian Prize, Chairman of the East-West Institute's Board Ross Perot, in particular, said: "At a time when Armenia is experiencing times of change, Sargsyan is entrusted to establish stability in the country and propose a development vector that will lead to a more democratic and prosperous future. "
In turn, Sargsyan expressed gratitude for appreciation and stressed that indeed, he has dreams or a vector about the future. The President of Armenia expressed his conviction that the 21st century is the century of the development of research and technology, and it is precisely in this direction that the future is. "Freedom and the right to life are not only exceptional and unshakable values, but also those points of contact that should unite the interests of all. I truly believe that the 21st century is the age of Armenia, therefore, we believe that we will be winners. We are a small country, but the world nation, the nation of the 21st century.
