ArmInfo.Days of events in the framework of the 17th summit of the Francophone countries may be declared non-working in Armenia. The Armenian government at its October 4 meeting approved the amendments to the law "On Holidays and Memorable Days", which will be considered at an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on October 5.
Presenting the draft amendments, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan noted that the events within the framework of the Days of Francophone will start from October 7. Within the framework of the summit, delegations from more than 80 countries will visit Armenia, about 40 of which will be headed by heads of state and government. It is possible that delegations from 4-5 countries will arrive in Yerevan at the same time. In this regard, there is a need for effective organization of traffic in the capital of Armenia, and the work of police services. For this reason, the draft proposes to give the government the right to establish non-working days in exceptional situations with their completion on other days. As Tigran Avinyan noted, the peak of events will be on October 11-12.
Earlier it was reported that the 105th session of the Permanent Council of the International Organization of Francophonie will take place on October 7, the 35th Session of the Ministers of the OIF will be held on October 8 and 9, and the summit of the Heads of the OIF will be held on October 11 and 12, in the Sport and Concert Complex named after K. Demirchyan. The Days of Francophonie will be summed up with a gala concert at the Republic Square.
