ArmInfo. The session of the member states of the 1999 Second Protocol to the 1954 Hague Convention on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict'' was held at UNESCO headquarters.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the bureau meeting discussed the granting of increased protection status to Geghard Monastery and Upper Azat Valley, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Following the discussions, a unanimous decision was made to accept the application and include it in the agenda of the 13th meeting of the 1999 Second Protocol. To recall, the "Monastery of Geghard'' and the Upper Valley of the Azat", are on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000.
