ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that from September 29 he will deal with the issue of extraordinary parliamentary elections.
"We need to discuss this issue with the parliamentary forces, I hope that we will be able to reach an agreement. At the heart of these discussions I will put the lack of preconditions for any method. This is due to the fact that a political issue was raised during the elections to the Yerevan Council of Elders Specifically, there was a question of "for" and "against" holding early parliamentary elections. As a result, the "My Step" bloc gathered an unprecedented number of votes at 81%, "said Pashinyan during a live broadcast on Facebook.
At the same time, he expressed the conviction that these indicators indicate that citizens clearly raise the question of the need for holding extraordinary parliamentary elections. "If it is argued that people's demands are not so clear, then we will find evidence to the contrary, namely that the need for holding extraordinary elections is higher than some of our colleagues represent," - said Pashinyan, adding that holding extraordinary elections is inevitable and should be held as soon as possible. According to him, the whole international community, potential investors and the business environment are important for everyone.
According to the prime minister, now that passions in the post-election period have somewhat subsided, in such a calm atmosphere with parliamentary forces it is necessary to discuss and find solutions. "If doubts are expressed regarding the views of people, I think we will also think about how public opinion can be learned on a broader scale. But I hope that this will not come to this, and the facts are enough to make sure that in the shortest possible time, of course, not in a hurry, but we will be able to organize elections, after which the post-revolutionary period will be successfully passed and the development issues of the country will become the main agenda item, "concluded Pashinyan.
