ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed on September 27 a wide range of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda at the meeting of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports, the interlocutors pointed to the need for further steps in the direction of deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Armenia and the UAE noted with satisfaction the achievements in the sphere of tourism. They stressed that, although a small but active Armenian community in the UAE contributed to the formation of warm, friendly relations between the two countries, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented the progress of preparatory works for the holding of the Yerevan Summit of Francophonie, as well as the priorities of Armenia's upcoming chairmanship in the Organization - smart development and a digital agenda, as well as promotion of cooperation within this agenda.
The ministers also exchanged views on the most pressing issues on the regional and international agenda. They touched upon the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to resolve the issue exclusively by peaceful means and within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. In this context, the Armenian minister stressed that attempts to translate the discussions of the Karabakh conflict on other sites undermine the efforts of the international community aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region.
