ArmInfo.Azerbaijan by arming itself poses a potential threat not only for Armenia, but for the whole region, Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan stated in Yerevan on September 26, referring to the sale of arms to Azerbaijan by Russia.
"We consider it a problem the sale of weapons by any country to such an unpredictable country like Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has proved that it is unpredictable both in foreign and domestic policy. We believe that Azerbaijan, by acquiring arms, arming itself, poses a potential threat not only for Armenia , but for the whole region, "Balayan said.
Earlier, President Ilham Aliyev, at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, said that Azerbaijan had purchased weapons from Russia for $ 5 billion, and this figure will grow. He noted that military-technical cooperation between the countries has great traditions. Aliyev stressed that the figure of $ 5 billion will continue to grow, as Azerbaijan modernizes the army, and Russia is the world's most important producer and supplier of military products to international markets.
