ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in New York met with the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov (Russia), Stephane Visconti (France), Andrew Sheffer (USA) and the personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in- Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry informs, Mnatsakanyan confirmed Yerevan's readiness for a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. He stressed the importance of creating the climate of peace, focusing on the need to abstain from steps that contribute to the escalation of the situation. The minister drew the attention of the Co-Chairs to the periodic attempts of Baku to aggravate the situation on the border with Armenia and the Line of Contact with Artsakh, as a result of which two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Armenia and Artsakh had recently died. He noted that such steps by Azerbaijan cause serious damage to the peace process, in particular, on the eve of the meeting of the Armenian and Azeri FMs mediated by the Co-Chairs. The interlocutors exchanged views on the forthcoming meeting of the Foreign Ministers and other issues on the agenda.
