ArmInfo. The organization of the meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US President Donald Trump takes time, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told journalists on September 20.
In particular, according to him, the Armenian side is working on the issue, but the process takes time. As the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry pointed out, there are various platforms for joint work with the United States. "The issue of Pashinyan-Trump meeting should come to its end, about which the public will be informed," he said.
At the same time, refraining to name the terms of possible bilateral negotiations at the highest level, Mnatsakanyan only noted that there is no need to hope for an early meeting.
Back in late July, it was reported that there was an intention to organize a meeting between the leaders of Armenia and the United States, Nikol Pashinyan and Donald Trump. US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills stressed that the possibility of organizing a Trump- Pashinyan meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session is being considered. "However, the schedules of the two leaders are very busy, and their administrations are trying to find time for the meeting," the diplomat said, stressing that there is no agreement on the meeting yet.
To note, the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly opens in New York on September 18. The high- level meetings will begin on 24 September.
