ArmInfo.Nikol Pashinyan will win the elections of the Yerevan mayor on September 23, international expert, former chairman of the parliamentary commission on foreign  affairs Hovhannes Igityan expressed such an opinion to ArmInfo.

"The main mistake of the election participants and experts is an  attempt to assess the upcoming extraordinary elections of Yerevan  Mayor using ordinary situations and methods, while this is not a  struggle of programs, it is not a rivalry between biographies and  experiences." Elections should be considered through the prism of the  revolution, the prism of the recent change of power. We all know that  Yerevan's management system is completely corrupted, and it has  always worked for some people carrying out political orders, "he  said.

Accordingly, the expert considers that the upcoming elections in  Yerevan should first of all be considered as an opportunity to break,  destroy this vicious system as a continuation of the April and May  events. In this light, Igityan forecasts that Yerevan citizens will  vote for the country's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan  mayoral elections.

"I state this with all due respect to the other participants in the  election. For example, Artak Zeynalyan is the only decent Minister of  Justice of Armenia in my memory, and I would very much like him to  continue what he has started in this post. And I would very much like  the Elders of Yerevan were representatives of the most diverse  political forces. This will help the mayor to lead the city properly  and will contribute to more constructive management of Yerevan, "the  expert concluded.

Extraordinary elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan will be  held on September 23. More than 50% of the mandates are required for  the candidate leading the list of a particular party or bloc to be  elected a mayor. There are four blocs and eight parties in the  elections. The "My step" bloc is leaded by Hayk Marutyan, the "Luys"  bloc - Artak Zeynalyan, the "Prosperous Armenia"- Naira Zohrabyan,  the "Yerevan Community" - Anahit Tarkhanyan, the "Yerevan residents"  bloc - Ararat Zurabyan, the "Yerkir Tsirani" party - Zaruhi  Postanjyan, the Heritage Party - Raffi Hovhannisian, the ARF  "Dashnaktsutyun" - Mikael Manukyan, the "Hayk" - Gevorg Hovsepyan,  the Party of reformists - Artak Avetyan, the Orinats Yerkir party -  Mher Shahgeldyan, the Democratic Path party - Manuel Gasparyan.
