ArmInfo.France is ready to continue efforts aimed at expanding close cooperation with friendly Armenia in various spheres. On this eve, during a meeting with RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is in Paris on a working visit, said the French President Emmuel Macron.
As the RA government's press service reports, during the meeting the French president expressed his conviction that the visit of the head of state Armenian government will give a new impetus to the further development and strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries. Noting that in just a month he will arrive in Armenia on a state visit, Emmanuel Macron expressed confidence that the summit of Francophonia will be held in Yerevan at a high level. Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Nikol Pashinyan noted that the Armenian-French relations are in good hands and will continue to expand and deepen in the interests of both countries. The Prime Minister noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties have constantly deepened. He expressed confidence that they will continue to develop in various fields - at the level of regular political dialogue, active interparliamentary interaction, economic cooperation. The Armenian side also expects the implementation of joint projects in the cultural, educational, scientific, medical and other spheres. "I am convinced that our meeting will give a new quality to our privileged relations based on centuries-old historical friendship," said Nikol Pashinyan. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of holding a summit of Francophonie in Armenia and added that this is one of the most important events in Yerevan since independence. The head of government reaffirmed the commitment of the Armenian authorities to ensure the success of the summit and expressed confidence that this will contribute to the further growth of the reputation and influence of the Francophonie. Nikol Pashinyan attached importance to the economic forum, which will be held in Yerevan on October 10 as part of the Francophonie summit and which will be aimed at facilitating the creation of contacts and interaction between entrepreneurs.
The sides exchanged views on the Karabakh issue and attached importance to the peaceful settlement of the conflict within the framework of the format of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. Nikol Pashinyan highly appreciated the efforts of the co-chairing countries, including France, to ensure peace and stability in the region. The Prime Minister stressed that Armenia is committed to continuing negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Emmanuel Macron and Nikol Pashinyan agreed to discuss in more detail the agenda of the Armenian-French relations during the state visit of the French President to Armenia.
