ArmInfo. On September 13, President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan received US Senator Anthony Partantino and Mayor of Glendale Zare Sinanyan. A number of issues related to the relationship between Artsakh and California were discussed.
According to the press service of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan stressed that deepening and expanding ties with California and its administrative units occupies a special place in the foreign policy agenda of Artsakh, noting with satisfaction the implementation of successful joint programs in a number of spheres. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh Masis Mailyan welcomed the visit of the delegation to Artsakh, stressed the importance of the adoption of a joint resolution of the Assembly and the Senate of California in support of the independence of Artsakh and expressed confidence that this laid a solid foundation for the development of fruitful cooperation between Artsakh and California in various fields.
During the meeting, current projects and prospects for implementing joint programs in the sphere of economy, culture, education and health between Artsakh and California were discussed. The sides also touched upon the possibilities of arranging mutual visits of specialists from various industries with the aim of exchanging experience and ensuring a high level of qualification. The sides also exchanged views on further steps to raise awareness about Artsakh in California.
Senator of the State of California Anthony Portantino, Mayor of Glendale Zare Sinanyan and Secretary of the City Mayor of Glendale Artashes Kasakhyan also received the Chairman of the National Assembly of Artsakh Ashot Ghulian on September 13. Welcoming the guests, the head of the parliament noted the importance of continued development of relations with the parliamentary and city authorities of the State of California and highly appreciated the joint decision of the Parliament and the Senate of California in support of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
