ArmInfo.A criminal case was opened in the Department for Supervision over the Investigation of Especially Important Cases of the RA Prosecutor General's Office related to wiretap of a telephone conversation between the Director of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan and the Chairman of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia Sasun Khachatryan.
As the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office informs, the case was opened on the grounds of part 1 of Art. 146 (unlawful violation of the secrecy of correspondence, telephone conversations, postal, telegraph or other communications of citizens) and clause 4, part 3 of Art. 254 (unauthorized copying of information stored in a computer, computer system, network or machine media, or unlawful acquisition of it in another way, or interception of information transmitted using computer communication tools committed for the purpose of obtaining information of special value) of the RA Criminal Code . The preliminary investigation into the criminal case was entrusted to the Investigative Committee.
To recall, yesterday an audio recording was spread on the Internet of the telephone conversation, during which the interlocutors discuss the criminal case on the events of 1 March 2008. A few hours later the Director of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan confirmed the authenticity of the audio record. In the evening of the same day, speaking to the voters of the Davidashen community, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the wiretapping of the heads of the special services is a conspiracy, a crime against the Armenian statehood. "I instructed the National Security and Police Service to find the conspirators in the shortest possible time, subjecting them to accountability," he said.
