It seems to me that during his visit to Moscow Nikol Pashinyan forgot that in Armenia there is a valid Constitution and political desires should be  coordinated with it, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the  National Assembly on Foreign Affairs, the deputy Chairman of the RPA  Armen Ashotyan stated on September 10, referring to the statement of  the Prime Minister of Armenia on the possibility of early elections  to the parliament until June 2019. 

The MP said that if the Constitution changes solely at the will of a  politician, this resembles attempts of the reproduction of power.  "Pashinyan constantly accused us that by making changes in the  Constitution, Serzh Sargsyan tried to retain the power, in fact, now  Pashinyan is doing the same thing." I believe that a prime minister  who has high legitimacy should take up reforms in the country, change  the life of citizens for the better, strengthen the security of  Armenia and Artsakh, implementing an effective foreign policy, engage  in the development of democracy in the country . While destroying the  state and dictating the future of the country, based solely on his  own interests, is at least irresponsible", the MP said.

As for the fact that the representatives of the Republican Party  voted for the program presented by the government, which envisages  early parliamentary elections in the country, Ashotyan noted: "The  head of the Republican faction Vahram Baghdasaryan noted that RPA  representatives are against, however , given the current situation in  the country and the importance of transferring power without shocks,  certain votes from our party were given for this program. "I believe  that the government should reconsider its current position, which is  'people love us so we can do whatever we want' ", - deputy chairman  of the RPA concluded.

It should be noted that earlier Ashotyan stated that the Armenian  government should not engage in constitutional amendments that would  lead to the self-dissolution of the National Assembly, but  concentrate on its direct duties.
