ArmInfo. The preferential regime for the customs clearance of Turkish clothing in Armenia is completely excluded. About this the Minister of Economic Development and Investments Artsvik Minasyan told journalists, commenting on the protest action of employees of clothing market of clothes "Arindzh Mall", demanding the preservation of customs clearance in kilograms, regardless of its real price.
Earlier, the customs clearance of "shuttle traders" (small lots of clothes and other goods) was conducted by the Norfolk Consulting company, created with the participation of former heads of the State Revenue Committee. Customs traders could hold only this company. In exchange, Norfolk understated the customs value of goods, allowing traders to pay less duties. In particular, the clothes were made not per piece, but on kilograms. Since July, this order does not work, and the goods must be registered according to all rules. At the same time, he has to pay all the taxes due. As Artsvik Minasyan stressed, the previous customs clearance procedure was unfair. In addition, he also hits the local producer. The minister recalled that the State Revenue Committee has established units that will help small importers with cargo registration. Today, merchants from the clothing market of Arindge Mall held a picket at the building of the Armenian government, demanding to keep customs clearance for kilograms ($ 3 per kilogram of clothing, regardless of its real value), because at current rates the value of the goods is significantly increased.
