ArmInfo. The head of the Martik Foundation, the former deputy premier of Artsakh (NKR), the adviser to the NKR President Arthur Aghabekyan, who is being accused of embezzlement in his fund, today on Facebook made an appeal to citizens to continue transfers to the fund's account.
He expressed his hope that the number of participants in the fund will reach 1 million. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the former Prime Minister of Artsakh Araik Harutyunyan and other friends who proposed the creation of a deposit fund, for which the amount will be transferred, the missing, according to investigators, on the account of the Martik Foundation. Aghabekyan stated that there is no need to open a deposit fund.
Further, he turned to statements that many participants of the fund were literally forced to make donations. "If there really are such people, then let them turn to us, and we will try to return the amount donated by them, or they can turn to the investigative body," Aghabekyan said.
To note, the investigative body initiated a criminal investigation into the thefts from the Martik fund, starting from the very day of its creation in 2002. According to the investigation, only for 2012-2018 more than 54 million drams were wasted from the fund. According to the materials of the case, this money was spent on refreshments in restaurants, in many cases owned by Aghabekyan himself, the acquisition of expensive gifts. Aghabekyan himself does not admit guilt.
The Martik Foundation is engaged in the implementation of educational and social programs for military personnel.
