ArmInfo. During the preliminary investigation into the events of 1-2 March 2008 in Yerevan, new evidence was revealed that on these days about 1,300 employees of various units of the Police used physical force and special means to disperse the opposition rally on Liberty Square and prevent further gathering of protesters in the central streets and squares of Yerevan.
Subsequently, police officials, in order to justify these actions, have drawn up false reports that the special measures were caused by information received by the law enforcement agencies that demonstrators allegedly possessed weapons and special means. According to the protocols, law enforcers allegedly took actions to "study the terrain" of the congestion of people, however, having met their aggressive resistance, they were forced to use physical force and other methods to clear the Liberty Square from the demonstrators.
In fact, a case was initiated on the grounds of abuse of authority by some police chiefs and falsification of documents. These materials are attached to the general criminal case on the events of March 1, 2008.
