ArmInfo. The Armenian Ministry of Healthcare expressed its concern over the problems related to trash disposal in Yerevan, as in the hot weather the garbage poses a threat to health.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Healthcare, in the hot weather, the processes of degradation of garbage is much faster. Sulfuric acid and ammonia spread out from the recicle bins in the city, which even in small concentrations can cause irritation of the respiratory tract and eye mucosa, it can also exacerbate chronic heart failure and allergic reactions. Accumulated trash can self-ignite even in cold weather, which leads to the spread of substances that cause cancer.
Accumulated garbage also attracts rodents, insects, birds, who are carriers and circulators of various infectious diseases.
To note for several months there have been problems with garbage disposal in Yerevan, which was also noticed by the Government of the country. The "Sanitek" company asked forgiveness from the citizens for the inconvenience, but the situation only worsened.
