The German Development Bank (KfW) played a crucial role in the formation of a credit culture in Armenia, which had a significant impact on the development of the country's economy, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated receiving the German delegation, headed by Head of Development Cooperation South Caucasus of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Daniel Haas. KfW Regional Office Director for South Caucasus Klaus Weigel was also in the delegation.
As the Armenian Government's Press Service informs according to Deputy Prime Minister, especially pointed at those programs that give an opportunity to come up with new ideas and implement them. "For each country, new ideas are of great importance, and any government should make every effort to identify them," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
The guests, expressing gratitude for the reception, emphasized the importance of the visit of the German delegation, in particular, after German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Armenia. Following the visit it was stressed that the cooperation between the two states is developing well and there is the potential for development and deepening of bilateral cooperation.
Daniel Haas briefly presented to the Deputy Prime Minister the main activities of KfW Bank in Armenia, and also raised the issue of the meeting of Armenian-German intergovernmental commission, which will be held in October this year.
The interlocutors discussed the process of implementation by German companies of programs in Armenia aimed at developing the most important sectors, talked about plans for further cooperation.
