
ArmInfo. The newly appointed Vietnamese ambassador to Armenia, Ngo Dik Man, presented copies of his credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, Mnatsakanyan expressed confidence that the newly appointed ambassador will make his significant contribution to the further development of the Armenian-Vietnamese bilateral relations. The Armenian Foreign Minister reaffirmed that deepening and strengthening cooperation with Vietnam is one of Armenia's foreign policy priorities.
The interlocutors discussed issues of further expansion of cooperation between the two friendly countries, both in bilateral and multilateral formats. In this context, the sides touched upon the prospects for cooperation between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as between the EAEU and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It was mutually noted that the platform of interaction between the EAEU and Vietnam provides an opportunity also for expanding and strengthening bilateral economic ties.
The sides exchanged views on the activities of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, educational and technical cooperation. Mnatsakanyan and Man noted the importance of the current cooperation in multilateral platforms, emphasizing the importance of the format of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
The interlocutors expressed readiness to continue work on expanding the legal framework. The sides also exchanged views on a number of regional problems. In this context, Mnatsakanyan presented the approaches and priorities of the Armenian side in the process of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict, stressing the need to create an atmosphere conducive to peace for the advancement of the process. The Armenian Foreign Minister also highly appreciated the balanced approach of Vietnam on this issue.
