ArmInfo. On the fact of beating a 13-year-old girl and her father, the nephew of the ex-head of the Armenian Police Vladimir Gasparyan will not be charged. Answering the question of ArmInfo, the head of the Special Investigation Service (SSS) of Armenia Sasun Khachatryan said this on August 30.
According to him, within the framework of the criminal case investigated in the CAS, the brother of the former Chief of the Police of Armenia Karen Gasparyan was charged with part 1 of Article 137 of the RA Criminal Code ("Threat of murder, causing serious harm to health or destruction of property").
The case against the son of Karen Gasparyan, a member of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department, was terminated due to insufficient evidence and a decision was made not to prosecute him.
Recall that according to the prosecution, on July 8, 2018 between Karen Gasparyan and the resident of Kotayk region Avetik Sargsyan, a dispute arose over the fact that the daughter of Sargsyan on the day of the holiday Vardavar doused Gasparyan's car with water. Under the pretext of clarifying the circumstances of the incident and reconciliation, Gasparyan on the same day called Sargsyan to his dacha, located in the village of Kotayk, where, in the presence of his son, his friends and other persons, he asked Sargsyan on his knees to apologize for being cursed at him. The latter, however, refused to comply with this requirement. In order to take revenge on Sargsyan, Gasparyan threatened to kill him from the weapons in his car. As a result, Sargsyan yielded to Gasparyan's demand and, kneeling down, asked for his forgiveness. In respect of Karen Gasparyan as a preventive measure, a written undertaking not to leave the country was elected. The preliminary investigation continues.
Meanwhile, on July 9, information appeared on the network that Vladimir Gasparyan's brother Karen Gasparyan, his wife and daughter intimidated a 13-year-old girl, a resident of Kotayk, for trying to pour Gasparianov's car on the day of the Varadavar holiday. According to the information, Gaparyan stopped the car, approached the girl, grabbed her hair and tried to lower her head into the nearby ditch. The father, who came to help the girl, was taken away by Gasparyans in an unknown direction, beaten with an electric shock. He was also humiliated, forcing him to ask for forgiveness from the Gasparyans genuflectively. "And after that, after I got on my knees, they hit me again, intimidating that they would destroy the family, they would blow up the house if I went to some step: I was beaten by Karen Gasparyan's son, and Karen Gasparyan himself threatened me," Sargsyan, after the incident, was in the hospital with a concussion.
On July 10, Police Chief Valery Osipyan said that an official investigation was conducted against the nephew of the former head of the Armenian Police Vladimir Gasparyan, a member of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department. Then the case was temporarily suspended in connection with the transfer of case materials to the production of the CAS. Nevertheless, as assured Osipyan, today in Armenia is a completely different situation, and kinship with officials and ex-officials does not absolve anyone from responsibility if they committed a crime.
