ArmInfo. The employees of the department for combating organized crime in cooperation with the national bureau of Interpol in Armenia, have detained Turk Kevin Oksuz in Yerevan, who is wanted by the US law enforcers.
As the press service of the RA Police told ArmInfo, Oksuz founded an enterprise in Armenia and started its activities. "Oksuz was put on an international wanted list by the US on August 23. He is charged with crimes under the Criminal Code of the United States, in particular, submission to the Ethics Committee of the country of a false declaration through falsification and forgery of factual documents of the Ethics Committee (4 episodes), "the RA Police informs.
According to the police, Oksuz headed a Turkish-American and Eurasian non-government organization, which does not pursue any benefits. The organization's goal is to establish close contacts between the Turks and Americans, organizing trips to Turkey and Azerbaijan. In 2013, Oksuz invited several American congressmen to travel. "Private visits by US congressmen are regulated by the Ethics Committee in accordance with the Travel Regulations, according to this rule, travel sponsors must fill out special forms that specify the exact sources of funding for travel expenses and actual costs." The tour organizer, Oksuz, submitted to the Ethics Committee falsified forms, noting that the organization did not receive any funding from a direct or indirect source. It turned out that the organization led by Oksuz did not actually pay for all expenses and received financing, including from the SOCAR oil company belonging to the government of Azerbaijan. It was also revealed that 9 members of the US Congress and 32 members of the staff received gifts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Oksuz was detained, "the Armenian police informed.
