"20 years have passed since that memorable day when the new capital, Astana, became known." Over the years since that day, the new capital has radically changed not only its appearance, but also changed the whole of Kazakhstan, "said Kazakhstan's ambassador to Armenia Timur Urazaev, at the organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Yerevan solemn reception on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Astana.
The Ambassador also congratulated the Armenian guests on the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan and stressed the need to build up bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Armenia, cooperation between the two capitals. "Two more significant dates were noted on the calendar of Kazakhstan - Constitution Day (August 30) and International Day Against Nuclear Tests (August 29), which was established by the initiative of our president by the UN General Assembly in 2009. The recognition by the world community of Kazakhstan's leadership in the sphere of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, the emergence of a young capital on the political map of the world, the adoption of the Basic Law are incarnations of the Head of our state, everyday work of ordinary Kazakhstanis, va Kazakh diplomatic mission.
Meanwhile, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stressed that Astana, located in the very center of Eurasia, has become a place for promoting ideas of integration, rapprochement of the East and West, various cultures and civilizations, a symbol of openness and peacefulness.
In a solemn atmosphere, the Ambassador also presented a letter of gratitude to the young Armenian photographer David Hakobyan for the original photograph of the President of Kazakhstan, made by him in Sochi in the autumn of last year. In addition, guests of the ceremony were provided with photographs with views of Astana, photo albums about the nature of Kazakhstan, as well as a documentary about the young capital.
The event was attended by the heads of the presidential administration, the Security Council, the government, the National Assembly of Armenia, representatives of business and public circles of Armenia, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in our country.
