ArmInfo. Yerevan closely follows all the processes in the region that can have a direct or indirect impact on Armenia, acting Spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan stated on August 28 during a briefing, responding to a question about whether the new US sanctions against Russia will affect Armenia.
"This question is among them, there are already assessments on our part, but I can not voice them yet," Naghdalyan summed up.
The new package of US sanctions against Russia came into force on August 27. The Department of State will no longer issue licenses for the export of weapons and dual-use products to Russia, except for exports in the space industry and in the field of civil aviation. Also, any US assistance to Russia ceases, except for urgent humanitarian assistance, food and other agricultural products. Moscow is also deprived of "any loans, credit guarantees and other financial support" from an American institution.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has already stated that Russia will respond to new Washington sanctions pragmatically and on the basis of the principle of reciprocity.
