The agenda of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's visit included issues of deepening relations at bilateral and international platforms and discussions on relevant international and regional issues, Acting Spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan stated on August 28 during a briefing.
"The fact that a large number of representatives of large companies were included in the German delegation testifies to the intentions of the German side to strengthen trade and economic relations with Armenia, concrete agreements were reached, they concern both investments and joint projects. I can only say that Armenia will present certain proposals and projects in this direction, "the representative of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
She added that another important issue on the agenda was that the parties discussed the issues on the agenda of relations with the European Union, including the prospects for the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU. "And on this issue, we received clear assurances from Germany," she summed up. To recall, Merkel said at a press conference in Yerevan on August 24 that Germany is ready to promote the idea of liberalizing the visa regime of Armenia with the EU. As for the liberalization of the visa regime with Armenia, with which the EU signed a framework agreement, then, according to her, Berlin will do everything possible to progress in this direction.
