"Veolia Jur" company denies charges of bribery of members of the Commission on Regulation of Public Services of Armenia

ArmInfo. The single operator  of the water supply system of Armenia - CJSC "Veolia Jur" expresses  its indignation in connection with the reports of the Armenian Police  about the offenses committed in the company.

As the press service of the CJSC reports, the RA Police issued a  communication according to which a number of employees of "Veolia  Jur" were engaged in additions, drafting of false acts and other  offenses. Moreover, the company is accused of bribing a number of  officials of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of the  Republic of Armenia for increasing the tariff for its services.

CJSC "Veolia Jur" does not accept the style of accusations of the  Police. Moreover, the company considers it incorrect to publish  specific names now, when the preliminary investigation continues and  the principle of innocence operates. As for the specifics of the  problem, the company will make a statement in this regard in the near  future, "the statement says.

It should be noted that on August 25 the RA Police reported on the  revealing of the facts of abuses and violations by the French "Veolia  Jur". Last year, the company filed an application with the PUCC for  the clarification of tariffs for 2017-2018. However, before the  proposal was discussed, the general director of the company Christian  Lefen and the functional director of Gore Grigoryan with the explicit  intention of bribing bought for August 26, 2017 the chairman of the  PUCC Robert Nazaryan and seven other employees of the body tickets  for the Yerevan-Paris-Yerevan flight. The total cost of tickets  amounted to over 4.2 million drams ($ 8.5 thousand). Another 15  thousand euros were transferred to them for payment of the hotel.  Tariffs for water were then raised.

Recall that on July 15, during a live broadcast on his Facebook page,  Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he sees  corruption risks in the issue of water supply, stressing that the  company "Veolia Jur" should draw conclusions.  Since January 1, 2017,  the property management of five companies has transferred to the  single water supply operator Veolia Jur (the daughter of the French  Veolia Generale des Eaux): Yerevan Dzhur, Nor Akunk.
