ArmInfo. The traffic police will soon pass to the system of scoring drivers. On August 25, the head of the Armenian Police Valery Osipyan told journalists. According to him, the scoring system will become a deterrent and will promote discipline on the roads and reduce severe accidents.
"On the instructions of the Prime Minister, we studied the experience of neighboring countries, where after the introduction of this system, the number of fatalities has dramatically decreased," he said. In particular, as the head of the Armenian Police explained, after the innovation, drivers will realize that the loss of points is fraught with the deprivation of a driver's license. Drunk drivers may be held criminally liable.
"For the first and second time, they (drunk drivers, ed.) Will temporarily lose their driver's license, but in the third and third time they are already facing criminal liability," Valery Osipyan explained.
