He stressed that after the talks he can state that extremely important and effective discussions were held with Mrs. Chancellor.
Pashinyan expressed confidence that bilateral relations have huge growth potential. According to him, the government headed by him will do everything possible to achieve impressive results in this direction, in particular, developing cooperation in the economic, political and humanitarian spheres. At the same time, the Premier stressed that Armenia has a special political, emotional attitude to Germany after in 2016 the German Bundestag adopted a resolution on the Armenian Genocide. The head of the Armenian government expressed confidence that the relations between the countries will continue to be strengthened, that a new page will be opened in the relations between the Republic of Armenia and the FRG.
Angela Merkel, in her turn, declared her readiness to assist Armenia in its ongoing reforms and invited the republic's premier to visit Germany. "In the spring we closely followed the events in Armenia, watched how the citizens of Armenia, especially the youth, were determined to realize and express their civil will through peaceful rallies.
We are representatives of the German Federal Government, deputies, representatives of the economic bloc of the delegation and the German side in general , we wish to accompany you on the path of these bold changes and wish to be a facilitating partner in the further development of Armenia, "the chancellor said. As Merkel pointed out, during the meeting with Prime Minister Pashinyan, the spheres in which the Armenian-German cooperation could develop were specified. According to the German Chancellor, Armenia and Germany can successfully continue to deepen cooperation in the field of education, in the scientific and research field, in the sphere of economy and other spheres. Germany can also assist Armenia in the way of effective implementation of the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership with the EU. "And so that we do not forget about our agreements, I invite you, Mr. Prime Minister, to Germany so that we can record the progress made and continue working towards further development," concluded Angela Merkel.
