ArmInfo. In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Special Investigation Service of Armenia, the brother of the former Chief of the Police of Armenia, Karen Gasparyan, was charged with the part of the first article of the 137th RA Criminal Code ("Threat of murder, causing serious harm to health or destruction of property").
The press service of the SIS informs that according to the accusation, on July 8, 2018 between Karen Gasparyan and the resident of Kotayk region Avetik Sargsyan, a dispute arose over the fact that Sargsyan's daughter watered Gasparyan's car on Vardavar holiday.
Under the pretext of clarifying the circumstances of the incident and reconciliation, Gasparyan on the same day called Sargsyan to his cottage, located in the village of Kotayk, where, in the presence of his son, his friends and other persons, he asked Sargsyan to apologize on his knees. The latter, however, refused to comply with this requirement. In order to take revenge on Sargsyan, Gasparyan threatened to kill him from the weapons in his car. As a result, Sargsyan yielded to Gasparyan's demand and, kneeling down, asked for his forgiveness. A written undertaking not to leave the country was chosen as a measure of restraint in respect of Karen Gasparyan,. The preliminary investigation continues.
