ArmInfo. A screening program for the early diagnosis of eye problems will be launched at a lot of educational institutions of Yerevan from September. A similar program will be used in all regional kindergartens in the near future to timely treat children's ophthalmic problems to prevent complications through subsequent treatment.
Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan and Director of Armenian Ophthalmologic Project (AOP) charitable foundation Nune Yeghiazaryan discussed the AOP issues at the meeting, the ministry said in a statement. "The cooperation with the Los Angeles Children's Hospital will provide an opportunity to introduce the "Avetis" electronic system, which will help to solve children's ophthalmic problems and further treatment. Besides, the opening of the ophthalmologic center in Shirak region will take place in late September," Yegiazaryan said. Other measures for the early diagnosis of children's eye diseases and prevention of blindness were also discussed at the meeting. .
