ArmInfo. Russian border guards detained a man who illegally crossed the Armenian-Turkish state border along the Araks River on the section of the Artashat border detachment, near Yeghegnavan settlement on August 13, the press service of the Russian Border Guard Department in Armenia reports.
The trespasser is a citizen of Guinean Republic, born in 1993. According to the intruder, he had come to Tehran from Guinean Republic to enter university. He got acquainted with a taxi driver and asked him to give him a tour around the city. The taxi driver had taken him to the territory of Turkey bypassing checkpoint, had allegedly taken his passport and put an entrance seal of the Turkish Gyurbulak automobile checkpoint. Then he returned his passport back and went to the unknown direction. He had allegedly lived in an abandoned building in Turkey's territory for two days where his money and mobile phone was stolen. In search of food he crossed the Araks River, thereby violating the state border. All the circumstances of the incident are being clarified. The trespasser was handed over to the Armenian law enforcement agencies.
